Kitchen Car 'Doris' (1933) was built in 1959 as a Restaurant Car, providing a full meals service. In the mid 1970s it was rebuilt with the removal of four seats which allowed a buffet serving hatch to be installed at one end. The carriage was purchased by AVR in 1982 and moved to Bitton shortly afterwards. It was restored over the following years and has since become the centre of activity, providing the facilities to cater for the culinary needs of large groups of people when on our dining services.
