Thanks to your support we’ve been able to complete the first phase of our Bitton fence upgrade, with the installation complete of our new yard fence.
However we were extremely disheartened to find out that access had been made into the lower end of the site during the weekend we completed the yard fence at the top of the site, with a number of smaller items taken and attempts to break into our coaching stock.
As such we want to progress our plans to construct a new heritage Midland Railway style fence around the whole car park, which would aim to completely protect the site. This is similar to the fence we have just installed at our crossing at the South end of the station.
We feel this will better protect the whole site, look aesthetically pleasing, and would have stopped the most recent break-in.
For extra safety and security, we are also looking at potential heritage lighting for the car park, benefitting both our volunteers and visitors.
